While rummaging in his father’s study, India founds out that the key she got on her birthday opens the bottom drawer of her fathers desk. Later that night India realizes that Charlie has murdered Auntie Gin, too, after she tries to call her cell and hears it ring deep in the garden. As if sensing India is in danger, Charlie shows up and eventually murders Whip, strangling his neck with his belt with India watching. When India wants to stop he tries to rape her. She runs into Whip, her classmate, and they make out. One night, India becomes upset by the intimacy between her mother and Charlie. She realizes Charlie is a murderer.ĭespite her attempts to avoid Charlie, India seems to be connected with him in a strange way, even infatuated with him. McGarrick’s body beneath piles of frozen food. Meanwhile, India goes into the basement to eat ice cream and as she puts the containers back into the freezer, she discovers Mrs. It’s her cell number with “call me!!!” written above. Just before she leaves to her hotel Auntie Gin pushes a piece of paper into India’s hand. Auntie Gin looks surprised when Evelyn explains Charlie has returned from his affairs in Europe and tells Evelyn that she needs to talk to her about Charlie living in the house. One night Aunty Gin, India’s great aunt, comes to visit the family. Charlie seems to frighten her, and then she suddenly disappears. McGarrick, who has been with the family since the Stoker boys were little. Shortly after Charlie Stoker moves in, India witnesses him argue with the housekeeper, Mrs. He had been traveling the world and now will be staying in the Stoker house indefinitely ‘for support’. The same day of her father’s sudden death and funeral, the uncle she never knew she had arrives. Her father is so proud of her that he stuffed and preserved her kills. India is devastated since she is very close to him, having spent time on many hunting trips together. It turns out that his father dies in a terrible car accident. The first time in her life her father is away on her birthday. This year, however, what she finds inside the shoe box is a key, which she then wears around her neck. India wears the saddle shoes all the time. Every year on her birthday day she gets from her loving father (Dermot Mulroney) the same present: a pair of saddle shoes tucked inside a white shoe box tied with a yellow ribbon. She is described as bright, sensitive and a loner. So, the story begins on India’s 18th birthday. The music playing on the background add up to the eerie atmosphere which already awaits as soon as he enters the screen. The tensions are built up slowly but more than able to keep me on the edge of my seat, curious of what ulterior motive Uncle Charlie brings to the house. Sound is in fact prominent throughout the film: from the cracking of egg shells in the beginning, the spider crawling on the floor and up India’s leg, fading partial conversations from which we learn about the characters and incidents, to the sound of wine gulped down India’s throat. The music scores and sound effects are a-m-a-z-i-n-g. The camera often shoots the objects and characters in close-ups, capturing their facial expressions or part of their faces. The film is filled with beautifully shot scenes with superb editing. To me the film looks promising already from the opening scene – which I later found out is the end of the story – and the way the opening credits fade away. Nicole Kidman plays her mother Evelyn Stoker and Matthew Goode takes on the role as India’s mysterious uncle, Charles (Charlie) Stoker. It’s a Gothic thriller starring Mia Wasikowska as 18 year-old India Stoker. I found it one of the most intriguing, provocative yet beautiful films I’ve ever watched. And I thank TGW that sent me to come across Stoker. I started with Stoker, then Leap Year (again? yeah…why not!), Match Point, Chasing Liberty (uugh! – but as Anna Foster said: he has cute everything here! ) and A Single Man.
The second half I downloaded from Showbox just recently, and to my absolute delight he’s on it! And since he’s staying on (yeayyy!), I decide that I would continue watching season 6 on Showbox.
Yes, I know that TGW is now on season 6 but I only got the DVDs of the first half of season 5.
JUDUL LAGU ARAB YANG LAGI NGETOP SEKARANG SERIES
Then suddenly he became a regular cast in the second half of The Good Wife season 5 (TGW is arguably one of my favorite TV series of all time). I haven’t seen his films since the rom-com Leap Year in 2010. But in the past week I watched five – back to back! They all have one thing in common: they starred Matthew Goode. I sometimes felt the urge and bought 5,6,7 DVDs but ended up not watching any. It’s been a while since I last went to the movies or watch one on DVD.
